All students are encouraged to participate in community service throughout their time at St Francis Xavier College.
All students have the opportunity to be part of the College SRC and to engage in whole-school fundraising events, in support of nominated charities. In Year 9, service learning is an integral part of the Pastoral Care program. Year 9 students participate in a formal volunteering program with their Pastoral Leaders, and assist organisations such as Pegasus Riding Schools, Greening Australia, St Vincent de Paul, Lifeline, local primary schools and others.
In Year 10, a community outreach program enables some students to not only continue to assist such organisations, but provides opportunities for leadership and positive social engagement, such as visiting St Francis Xavier Primary School in Lake Cargelligo.
Senior students may engage in volunteering and community outreach and gain recognition towards the award of a registered unit in Community Service.
