Last term, two sides represented the College in a Rugby League Gala Day. The U13’s were competing for the Router Shield and the U15’s were playing for the Clyde Shield.
The Under 13’s played heroically all day with only 13 players. They battled their way through to the final against much bigger opposition. They came up against a very well drilled and coached Melrose High School. The boys fought hard the whole game and came away with a very good win in the final. Well done to all the boys who represented the College so well and a special thanks to Mr Nolan and our Year 12 assistant coaches.
The Under 15’s side came up against a very strong St Edmund’s College in the first game. The boys tried hard all game but were out muscled by a very physical team. The next game was against Melba High School. Everyone came together and in a big team effort won the game. That placed us into the semi which we won again and that meant we played Eddie’s again in the final. Although it was a much improved effort, we still went down against an extremely physical St Edmund’s side. Thank you to Mr Sloman and our assistant coaches.

In the July holidays, Lekani Mpaso travelled to Redcliffe to complete for the ACT in the National Schoolboys Rugby League Championship. Lekani and the ACT side came a very respectable 4th place in the championship. Lekani performed well and was awarded a man of the match award in the final game against Queensland. Well done Lekani!
Charlize Schiavello in Year 9 was part of the ACT school sports championships competition for Volleyball. The competition was held from 5–9June in Canberra. We are so proud of her achievement and for representing SFX so well.
Year 9 student Ethan Gale represented the ACT in the National Indoor Cricket Championships (NICC) in Ipswich at the end of June. Ethan and his team were highly competitive against every state, playing fiercely until the last ball of every game and successfully took points from each game. ACT demonstrated determination, passion for their sport and represented their Territory proudly on and off the court. Great work Ethan!
