SFX Sporting Success
November 1, 2024As the year winds up in terms of School Sport, SFX continues to thrive and produce outstanding results. In particular, we’ve had two of our students compete in both national and international tournaments.
Josh M, competed in the Australian Junior Championships (AJC) are the pinnacle junior squash event in Australia with both an individual and team event contested over 7 days. Josh competed in the individuals U15’s Male’s as the 4th Seed of the event, where he made it through to the semi-finals against #1 in his age group, just losing out in a close and competitive game. This put Josh in the playoff for the bronze medal against, which he won in straight games to come 3rd Nationally.
Josh was also selected as the U15 male representative for the State in the Team’s event. Josh went undefeated, without dropping a single set, during the event with the ACT state team coming 3rd overall. Josh was award the MVP medal by the ACT State coach.

As mentioned in previous social media post, Christopher J has recently returned from Canada where he competed in the World Archery Field Championships. Representing Australia, Christopher performed incredibly and returned with two medals including a gold as part of the Male U/21 team. This is a continuation of a brilliant year where he was a 2024 Olympic Trials Finalist as well as a recipient of the 2025 Sports Australia Hall of Fame scholarship.
