Hotstart Pre-employment training 2020

“Hotstart” is an innovative hospitality pre-employment and WEX/ASBA placement program open to all ACT students in years 10, 11 and 12.  The program has been developed by Access Recognised Training (ACCESS) in partnership with the ACT Government and a collection of major ACT hospitality employers, ACT schools and OzHarvest.  The first component of the ‘Hotstart’ program involves students undertaking one week of face-to-face employment training delivered at one of our partner schools.

The pre-employment training program will give students a ‘taste’ of front and back of house hospitality activities and prepare them for the realities of the workplace.  On the final day of the pre-employment training students will be directly involved in an OzHarvest ‘Cook for a Cause’ event.  This will involve students working with chefs from our partner organisations to prepare rescued food for delivery to the OzHarvest network.
