SFX hosts Robocup
September 10, 2019On Saturday 7 September we hosted and participated in the Regional Robocup Junior Competition. Over 300 students from the region and 84 teams convened in our Gym to compete in the event.
Mr Peter Crane was extremely proud of the students who competed and of the Year 12 Business Services students who managed and ran the event.
“This is the biggest Robocup Junior we have had in the ACT in a decade and we are pleased to see Robocup continuing to grow each year,” said Mr Crane.
“It was great to see our students competing. The event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the Year 12 students who ran the event as part of their studies and who worked tirelessly over the two days.”
Year 12 Business Services student, Ruby Housego, enjoyed the responsibility of being involved in this large event.
“The event ran very smoothly. It was great to be given the opportunity to organise and run the event. I particularly enjoyed the independence and the level of responsibility we were given,” said Ruby.
Congratulations to all the SFX students who participated in the event. Our students managed to:
- Win the Rescue Maze
- Place 3rd in Rescue Line Secondary
- Place 3rd in On Stage Secondary
Thank you to all staff, students, schools and families who participated. Without your support, the event wouldn’t have been possible.
