Titration Stakes Competition 2024

On Thursday 9 May, three SFX teams competed in the 2024 RACI (Royal Australian Chemical Institute) Titration Stakes Chemistry Competition organised by the Department of Chemistry at the ANU’s Science Teaching Laboratories. All SFX students performed well in the competition, which involves working in teams to determine the concentration of unknown solutions using titration analysis. There were 40 teams from about 12 different colleges competing.

Charlotte Thurkettle, Mazen Omar and James Benedictos were placed sixth. The other two teams with Charlotte Miller, Sienna Clifford, Luca Guglielmin, Emily Tozer, Yolanda Gill and Ella Fitzgerald were in the top half of the teams. After about two hours of using their titration skills, the students were rewarded with pizza, while we waited for the results.

Please congratulate all students when you see them as they practised for the competition in their own time and were wonderful representatives for SFX during the competition.
