What’s happening in HASS

August 4, 2023

The HASS department is excited to be launching new junior electives for next year’s Year 9 and 10 students with ancient history and geography being introduced as new subject choices for 2024. Both of these are vital learning areas that will allow students to delve further into the world of social sciences, develop key skills and knowledge, and give them an opportunity to participate in a range of excursions and fieldwork to complement their learning.

Another exciting event coming up in the HASS department will be Social Sciences Week which will be celebrated in weeks seven and eight this term. Students will have opportunities to win prizes by participating in daily pastoral quizzes, identifying historical artefacts and other social science related activities. There will be displays outside the resource centre and around the school with more information in the coming weeks.

In the spirit of promoting geography as a new course for 2024:

What did the tectonic plate say when it bumped into another tectonic plate? My fault.
