2024 Computational and Algorithmic Thinking Competition
August 22, 2024Back in May, 24 of our aspiring Mathematicians competed in the Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) competition. This gave students the opportunity to develop their problem-solving skills through algorithmic thinking. The competition incorporates unique ‘three-stage tasks’ that encourage students to develop informal algorithms and apply them to test data of increasing size or complexity.
I would like to congratulate all the students who competed in this unique event, and also give an extra shout out to Max Morrison in Year 8 and Alexander Flinders in Year 10, who both received a Certificate of Distinction for the Junior and Intermediate Divisions respectively.
