Year 10 Camp 2024

On Wednesday 12 June, our Year 10 cohort ventured out to Douglas Park for their highly anticipated camp. The overall theme of the camp was formation and community building. The students wasted no time in participating and experiencing the outdoors in a challenging environment.

AGH Camps provided a safe environment for our Year 10 students to challenge themselves and provided experiences that they will remember forever. Once we arrived, the students were split up into mixed activity groups and were introduced to their experienced instructors. Over the next three days the students and their teachers were lucky enough to try all the activities such as archery, high ropes, gorge swing, quick drop free fall, raft building, tightrope bikes, dangling duo and flying fox. It was amazing to watch the students involving themselves and conquering their fears but also encouraging each other in each activity.

Night one, the students participated in a trivia night dress up with the “Lady Tradies’ taking out best dressed for the night. A special mention to the Year 10 Pastoral team who dressed up as SFX students for the evening.

Night two was all glitz and glam with a black and white themed disco for the students. DJ Ante from Wollongong was a surprise guest who provided all the tunes and beats for the night. The students also were lucky enough to have a photobooth to share in the memories of Year 10 camp.

The Year 10 students were amazing and represented the school and themselves well. It was fantastic to see these students shine in an environment outside of school and I was really impressed with their behaviour, leadership and encouragement of each other.

A special thanks to the staff who gave up time with their families to accompany the Year 10s: Thank you to Mrs. Teasdale, Mrs. Chartres, Mr. Sicily, Mr. Gibbs, Mrs. Richardson, Mr. Gannon, Mr. Lucas, Mr. Elias, Mrs. James, Mrs. Jorgenson, Mrs. Garrity, Mr. Mullin, Mr. Walton and Mrs. Myzeqari.
