Senior Wellbeing Morning, Semester 1

June 24, 2024

On Tuesday, 11 June, our senior students were treated with a morning of fun activities and a space to relax and unwind before their mid-year exams.

Face painting by Gecko Gang was a steady favourite. The creative Takemakebake and talented Harry Carman returned to entertain the students with DIY cookie painting and soothing live performance. Our teachers also facilitated mindfulness exercises and relaxation techniques such as meditation and mindfulness colouring, exploring the mind games of chess, along with breaking sweats together at the gym with weight classes and various sport activities.

Excitement throughout the morning also grew as we welcomed WIN News Canberra and Catholic Voice who featured our event in their program and website. We thank them for their willingness to cover an important story close to what our school embodies.

Our Year 11 Japanese class also brushed up their kanji and compiled handy tips on how to take care of one’s physical and mental wellbeing during the exam period. Annie, James and Matthew (L-R) worked diligently to produce natural translations and combine complex grammatical patterns to make their exam preparation an authentic formative task for a real purpose and for an authentic audience beyond the classroom.

Thank you to our teachers for pulling the event together and the wonderful vendors who participated. We hope to hold another wellbeing morning this year!
