SFX Students Win Young Women in STEM Awards

The University of New South Wales (Canberra) offers a Prize for Best Female Student in Mathematics to recognise and celebrate the strength of young women in STEM.
UNSW Canberra has a tradition of teaching for the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) professions in the ACT for more than 50 years.
SFX were invited to participate in the award for the second year running and nominated our best performing female students in Maths in Years 8 and 9 (2018).
The following students received an award
Year 8 (2018)
- Sienna Nash
- Vanessa Demberere (runner-up)
- Deborah Simpson (runner-up)
Year 9 (2018)
- Jemima Lum
- Alyssa Humphrys (runner-up)
- Rebekah Nahon (runner-up)
Sienna and Jemima were invited to accept their award at the formal ceremony that was held at UNSW last Thursday 7 March – World Maths Day. I would like to congratulate all our nominated students.
