Art competition for positive ageing

Community Home Australia are running an art competition for students in Years 7–12 with the theme, ‘positive ageing’ and calling it ‘Art for the Ages’.

The goal of this competition is to reduce the stigma surrounding ageing. This is particularly useful for young people who are constantly bombarded with unobtainable beauty standards through social media. By depicting ageing in a positive light, and thinking about what ways we can age healthily, students will be able to not only have increased awareness about how to age healthily themselves but also regard older people in our society with a higher level of appreciation, empathy and recognition.
