The St Francis Xavier College community celebrated its opening mass on 7 March, 2018, with over 1300 people in attendance.

Organised by School Chaplain Sr Sue Hallams SGS and Religious Education Coordinator Jarek Ferenc, and assisted by a large number of staff and students, it was an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the year so far.

This year’s spiritual theme for the college is “Be still and know that I am God”, and this theme was present throughout the beautiful liturgy. There were moments for stillness and quiet, as well as opportunities to join together in song.

Fr Loi Viovicente, Pairhs priest of North Belconnen Parish was joined by Frs Gerard and Kimi from Kippax, who celebrated the Eucharist.

Fr Loi spoke candidly in his homily about the need for quiet, to listen to the still, small voice of God.

The College reception is open from 8.15am to 4.15pm, Monday to Friday during the school term.
