Sometimes, school situations or the classroom environment itself can create sensory overload, anxiety or over-stimulation for some students.
To assist with this, we provide the use of two quiet rooms, located next to the Year Coordinators’ offices. The quiet rooms are supervised by a staff member with specialist qualifications as an art therapist, who utilizes a range of strategies to assist students to re-engage with their learning. Students may also prefer to simply have ‘quiet time’ to themselves.
Students who access the quiet rooms generally do so for a brief period of time in order to reset themselves so that they are able to return to class.
