Congratulations to the 9/10 Boys Oztag team who competed well throughout the day. It was pleasing to see the boys work together as a team, forming some lethal combinations. After the 5 games, the team finished with 3 wins and a draw which frustratingly meant they missed the finals by a single point! At times, the team displayed excellent skill and demonstrated what they were truly capable of but unfortunately some costly errors at crucial times prevented them from advancing to the finals. A huge thank you to the two Year 11 coaches Tim and Regan who did a fantastic job at the helm!

On Friday 26 August, girls from Years 9 and 10 competed in the North Side girls Netball Gala Day. The team was full of experience, with a lot of the girls having played representative netball at some point in their short career. The girls had an amazing day out, winning all their round games convincingly. The morale and unity of the team was excellent, as when we had any issues on the court it was easily fixed by positive thinking and enjoyment of the game. Our semi-final was the highlight of the day, with SFX winning a thriller, thanks to a Molly goal on the buzzer.

Unfortunately, the girls went down to Merici in the final. However, motivation of a potential rematch in the ACT schools finals was in the mindset of the girls. A huge thank you to Holli for helping to support the girls on the day and any umpires or volunteers that made the day so successful.

What a great day out at Stromlo for the School MTB Championships. We had 19 kids and 6 teams competing for SFX against 49 schools from NSW, Victoria and ACT. Teams rode in relay around a 6km course for the juniors and 9km course for the college riders with the aim to ride as many laps as possible in 4 hours. All teams competed with enthusiasm—one junior team and the mixed senior team nearly made the podium coming in 5th place overall. It was a great day out for all. Special thanks goes out to the parents who stayed to help manage the riders coming in and out of the interchange area.
