Transport Changes and Feedback
April 3, 2019By Martin Mullin, Assistant Principal Student Wellbeing.
Hello Parents and Guardians
Hopefully by now you have seen Transport Canberra’s plan for the new bus services that will be rolled out starting Monday 29 April, the first day of Term 2. We are very aware that these changes mean fewer buses servicing the College and in many instances students will be required to use public route buses to get to school.
The Catholic Education Office (CE) has asked that any families concerned by the impact of these changes pass on your concerns to College. The CE are trying to gauge the size and nature of the issues and once they have this information they will provide feedback to the ACT government.
Please be aware that it is not possible for the College to provide staff supervision to cover bus stops that are not on the College grounds. The new bus timetable means that some students will be dropped off and picked up from Krefft street and Southern Cross drive. Each of these bus stops are accessible by underpass and we expect the students to use these to cross the road.
We are aware that some issues will not become apparent until the new timetable has begun; nonetheless, please forward your concerns to myself martin.mullin@sfx.act.edu.au or the Principal’s Executive Assistant Jennifer.madgwick@sfx.act.edu.au.
