Principal’s Christmas Message
December 12, 2019Dear Parents, Students and Staff
The school draws nigh and how 2019 has flown.
The Year 12 Formal was held at Parliament House last Saturday evening and was a wonderful night of celebration. The students and their parents along with a good many staff enjoyed a great night together. This was one of the many Year 12 celebrations held over the last month. We are thankful and proud of the way the students conducted themselves during the many events. It has been wonderful to reflect on their time with us and we wish them all the best as they continue their journey.
The staff and students should be very proud of the opportunities, success and achievements realised this year. SFX continues to build upon its wonderful reputation. The SFX 2019 Yearbook will be available for students over the next week. This keepsake encapsulates a great deal of memories dear to us as a community. I commend it to you. In the present environment where most information is “online”, this hardcopy publication is somewhat of a novelty and provides only a snapshot of the enormous year 2019 has been for the College.
Lastly, I wish you all the joys and blessings that Christmas brings. The birth of Jesus renews our hope in realising God’s plan for each of us. It is a special time as family and friends get together. Thankfully the shops will be shut so we can be focussed on being together. Hopefully, our students will be focussing on the quality of the giving not the quality of the gift, as we remember those who are less fortunate and will have not family or friends to share the Christmas spirit with. The students have already made a start on this approach with their generous donations towards the Vinnies Christmas Appeal food hampers that will be delivered to Vinnies later this week. We also pray for those feeling the effects of the lingering drought, those affected by the fires and the firefighters who are putting their lives at risk in fighting the fires.
I hope your travels over the holidays will be safe. Thank you for your support of SFX this year.
Best wishes, Happy Christmas and may you have a happy, healthy and successful New Year.
