A message from the new Principal

Dear parents and friends of St Francis Xavier College

I am delighted to be joining St Francis Xavier College in the role of Principal in 2023.

St Francis Xavier College has been a leader in the education of young people for over 46 years and I hold a great affection for the College and its proud history in Canberra. I commend to you the current reputation and profile the College holds in our educational community.

My mission as Principal will be to ensure that the College continues to thrive as a future oriented professional learning community committed to the education and preparation of young people for the 21^st century life, work and learning. This will include innovative, inclusive, student centred learning in state of the art facilities, and a scholarly professionally formed staff whose mission is to lead excellence in student wellbeing and learning.

I have great confidence that my Executive team—which include Martin Mullin, Assistant Principal Pastoral Student Wellbeing, Jonathan Moyle, Assistant Principal Teaching and Learning, Dearne Bassett, Assistant Principal Staff Development and Niyati Bhatt, College Business Manager—and their teams are very well positioned to support me in leading our priorities of student learning and wellbeing, staff recruitment and finance and facilities development to ensure that your children each continue to thrive and grow in their learning journey. I am especially looking forward to getting to know your sons and daughters, and to joining them in the joy and rhythm of their academic and extra curricular pursuits. I hope to meet them at their year meetings, assemblies and in their classrooms in the coming weeks.
