Food Technology during lockdown

We have been working hard in Food Technology during lockdown to create opportunities for students to develop their skills in using the design process.

In Year 9, students have been designing new food products and learning about food marketing and product development. They are currently working on designing a gingerbread house that they will construct when we return to face to face teaching and learning.

Year 10 have been working on designing and planning for a function and learning about food catering and planning.

Year 8 have been working on designing a muffin for the school canteen and have been learning about vegetables, meat and fruit.

All year groups have had an opportunity to participate in the cooking at home challenge, whereby students had the opportunities to prepare and serve a dish at home and upload their photo to either the MS team cooking channel or Canvas.  It has been wonderful to see the students engage in cooking and home.

As you can see from the photos, we have some very talented chefs in the making. We are looking forward to seeing all the students back on campus soon.
