Year 9 pack up for Vinnies

July 30, 2021

On Friday 14 May, Year 9 students spent some time packing up craft materials in support of the St Vincent de Paul organisation. As the session started, the large number of cardboard boxes scattered around the room had many of the students looking concerned, but with some teamwork and application to the task, the boxes of equipment were quickly replaced by parcel bags ready to send. The recipients of the packages are families in our community who find themselves in hardship. Hopefully the craft packs and activities give them the opportunity to share some happy moments as a family. If you would like to support the St Vincent de Paul Society their website is: https://www.vinnies.org.au/

Year 9 students at St Francis Xavier take part in different volunteering activities across the year. Students have assisted at school athletics carnivals, the Lifeline Bookfair and Pegasus Riding already, with other opportunities to come. If you have contacts within community organisations who would like to set up a volunteering opportunity for our Year 9 students, please ask them to contact the Year 9 Coordinators at Year9Coordinator@sfx.act.edu.au
